Delhi HC permanently restrains Dr Reddy’s from commercially launching any product consisting of 'Olaparib'

The Delhi High Court has issued a permanent injunction against Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Limited, restraining it from commercially launching any product containing 'Olaparib', Olaparib API, or any related product. This order came in response to an application filed by Kudos Pharmaceuticals Limited, Astrazeneca AB, and Astrazeneca Pharma India Ltd., alleging patent infringement by Dr. Reddy’s.


GOI releases expert consensus statement on ICU admission and discharge criteria, key takeaways

For the first time, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has released an Expert Consensus Statement defining patients' admission and discharge criteria to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and other related details.

These guidelines for Intensive Care Unit Admission and Discharge Criteria, compiled by a total number of 24 experts and released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) operative under the Union Health Ministry, addressed several issues including ICU Admission criteria and specifically it defined the critically ill patients who should not be admitted to the ICU.

New Govt guidelines define who is an Intensivist

Releasing the guidelines for Intensive Care Unit Admission and Discharge Criteria, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has given a clear-cut definition on who is an "Intensivist" or Critical Care Specialist.

These guidelines, compiled by a total number of 24 experts and released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) operative under the Union Health Ministry, specified that to be called an "Intensivist", a specialist needs to have a specific training, certification and experience in managing critically ill patients in an ICU.

A giant uterine mass of 29kg operated at AIIMS Bhopal

A 44-year-old woman from Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh, sought medical attention at AIIMS Bhopal due to persistent massive abdominal distention over three years. Previously denied treatment at two other hospitals due to the high-risk nature of her condition, she was admitted to the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at AIIMS for evaluation two weeks ago.

The patient, facing difficulty breathing and impaired mobility from a large tumor, underwent a radiological examination revealing a colossal mass measuring 42x25x35 cm arising from the uterus. Following multidisciplinary discussions, a surgical intervention was planned.

Under the guidance of Dr. K Pushpalatha (HOD) OBGY, and collaborative efforts from Dr. Ajay Halder, Dr. Jyoti Nath Modi, and Dr. Bharti Singh, the critical case was successfully managed.
