Dr Kesang Wangdi appointed as president of IMA Arunachal Pradesh
Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has elected their new president and honorary secretary, with ENT specialist Dr Kesang Wangdi being appointed as the president and TRIHMS PMR Department Assistant Professor Dr Minggam Pertin as the secretary. Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has elected their new president and honorary secretary, with ENT specialist Dr Kesang Wangdi being appointed as the president and TRIHMS PMR Department Assistant Professor Dr Minggam Pertin as the secretary.
The appointment took place during a general body meeting of the association on June 11.

Dr Wangdi said, "To help the government in formulating major health policies, our major focus is on the drug menace and comprehensive drug policy formulation, which we have already submitted to the government."
He added that they would help the government to rationalize medical human resource distribution across the state. He said that they would focus on rural health and would provide high-tech training for doctors by organising workshops, CMEs, etc., as per a media report in the Arunachal Times.
Stating that 'reaching the outreached is one of the key objectives of the IMA-AP', Dr Pertin said that IMA-AP have to focus on establishing branches in various districts for effective functioning. He said, "At the same time, we give emphasis on the unity and welfare of the whole doctor fraternity and provide maximum service to the public in general."
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that Indian Medical Association (IMA) celebrated World Health Day across the country. IMA Celebrated World Health Day as Samarpan Devas or Gratitude Day while stressing on the ideal of "Health for All". The celebrations were held across 1,750 branches of the IMA. A mega Walkathon event was organized in Delhi. More than 1000 doctors from all sections - senior members, junior doctors, students, nurses and other paramedics participated in the event. They walked from Maulana Azad Medical College to IMA HQ.
